Arion Films was founded by Josh Lopez, a director, cinematographer, and editor who trained at the USC School of Cinematic Arts after serving in the Marine Corps. The studio is veteran-owned, based in Los Angeles, and available for work anywhere in the world.
The studio works end to end. Writing, directing, shooting, editing, and color all happen under one roof, so a project keeps one point of view from the first draft to the final grade.
We make our own films and documentaries, and we take on commercial, brand, and post work for clients who want the same care applied to theirs.
The name comes from Arion, the poet of Greek myth. Sailors set on robbing him granted one last song before they threw him into the sea. The song drew a dolphin, and the dolphin carried him to shore. We named the studio for him because we believe what the story believes: that art can save us.
